Fill them with your favorite fillings, they&#8217;re sure to satisfy! Burger addicts will be surprised at just how hearty this burger is, even without a big slab of meat or big bun of empty carbs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS<\/strong><br \/>\nFor the Spicy Cauliflower Patty\u2026 (Makes 6-8 patties)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup quinoa cooked in 1 cup broth or water<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 head cauliflower (about 6 cups florets)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ground cumin<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp ground chili<\/li>\n<li>1 cup ground almonds, or almond meal<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp\u00a0nutritional yeast<\/li>\n<li>2 chia or flax egg (1 tbsp chia seeds mixed with 3 tbsp water, allow to sit for them to absorb water)<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Himalayan salt<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the \u201cbuns\u201d&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Portobello mushrooms (enough for 2 per person)<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tbsp tamari<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp rice wine vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp sesame seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For the slaw&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00bc red cabbage, shredded<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc white cabbage, shredded<\/li>\n<li>1 carrot, grated<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp apple cider vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp coconut sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Smashed avo&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 avocado<\/li>\n<li>juice of 1\/2 a lemon<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of Himalayan sea salt<\/li>\n<li>Pinch of black pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>METHOD\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nPreheat oven to 350\u00baF (180\u00baC).<br \/>\nAdd cooked quinoa, cauliflower, cumin, chili, almond meal, nutritional yeast, chia egg, Himalayan salt and pepper to the food process. Process until mixture is combined well.<br \/>\nLine a baking tray with parchment paper, take 1\/4 cup of patty mixture and form into 6-8 patties on the baking tray, aiming to keep them about the same size as your portobello buns.<br \/>\nBake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until cooked through and golden.<br \/>\nIn a small bowl mix together olive oil, tamari and rice wine vinegar. Brush tops of portobello mushrooms with this and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
